Alice had a party
A after Christmas ball
And to her surprise
Butterflies and fireflies
Back from warmer climes
Came and had a ball ............

As a child I had friends in the stars
In Norse books about a heavenly tree
Greek and Roman Philosophers
At the library up town
Were more then company
Thank God for their presence
They protected me as a child
They helped me through the night
Now I try to be a friend when I can
So I made my presence known
While I walked beside this tree .......
